Whats your opinion?

  1. Pro riders will have differing opinions.

But for commuter and serious enthusiasts like me. I welcome disc brakes. For the reason being that I use expensive wheels and with the absence of calliper brakes grinding metal or carbon off the rims. I can prolong the life of the rims all through my cycling life. Without ever replacing the rims.

    1. I definitely think disc brakes are more relevant to the commuter however the extra cost and labour associated with disc brakes is determining factor when choosing between a rim or disc option.

  2. In a pro peloton, I wonder about the safety of the exposed discs in a bunch crash.

    1. Personally unless the the rotor itself somehow manages to break away from the hub and turning into a flying shuriken I don't see disc brakes being a safety risk in pro peloton.
